Friends of Japan Festival

November 28, 2004

As a member of Friends of Japan (a group of Japanese related organisations in Perth), JETAA participated in the first Friends of Japan Festival, held at the University of Western Australia. The day was used to promote Japanese culture in the local community, with displays of tea ceremony, judo, origami, calligraphy, bonsai and more.

Our part in the festival included a display of Japanese photographs taken by our members, a 'nengajo' (New Years card) making table and a virtual tour of a Japanese high school.

The day was a great success, so we look forward to participating in a bigger and better festival next year.
